In accordance with ISO 9001 certification, the excellence of Luka Koper’s operations has been essential in contributing to the acquisition of important new business from Korea. Notwithstanding the climate of fierce international competition, Mr Robert Časar, Chairman of the LK Management Board, and Board Member Mr Aldo Babič, have concluded a contract in Seoul with representatives of the South Korean logistics provider Glovis Co on the use of the Port of Koper. The Glovis Europe Corporation will also be establishing a branch office here, which, for the most part, will be dealing with the transport and logistics operations of two new car plants under construction by KIA and Hyundai in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. This new business is anticipated to increase the volume of both vehicles and containers passing through the port, and thus further enhance annual turnover.
