Luka Koper Among Nominated Finalists for Second Edition ESPO Award

The international jury that has to select the winner of the second ESPO Award on Societal Integration of Ports intensively discussed the 14 project applications that were submitted this year.

"It is striking how the idea that ports and their host cities should form a close partnership in their mutual interest has become the starting point for the projects of so many ports”, said jury Chairman John Richardson, “Our difficulty this year will be to choose one among so many different, interesting submissions.”

The jury came to the conclusion that the proposals of the ports of Amsterdam, Antwerp, Helsinki, Koper, Marseilles and Ponta Delgada made the most favourable impression and were therefore selected for the shortlist.
“We will now be putting a number of precise questions to the port authorities involved so that we can pass a final judgment”, concluded John Richardson.

The winner of the ESPO Award will be announced on 9 November during an evening ceremony in Brussels.
