M/V Dalmacija at the Port of Koper

23.03.2007

The passenger terminal at the Port of Koper is at a nascent stage, nevertheless cruise vessels bound for the Adriatic and the Mediterranean are already mooring at Koper. This year we expect 10 different vessels with together about 70 to 80 calls, so that  one day trips to Koper or visits to various tourist attractions in the near hinterland will attract about 25 to 30 thousands tourists.
During her seven days long cruise in the Adriatic the passenger vessel Dalmacija called also at Koper. 150 passengers of different nationalities board Venice and travel to Corinth and have now their last stop here and find a pleasant programme: they went to visit the Postojna caves and Piran, afterwards a taste of Slovenian wines and food was scheduled.
The M/V Dalmacija is owned by the  Croatian shipowner Adriatic Cruises, is 118 meters long, has 105 members in her crew and can accept 300 passengers. She visited Koper already last year. This is her first visit for this season, but till the end of the year we are expecting her another twelve times. The passenger terminal in Koper is in fact becoming more and more interesting for tourist operators, so  already next year the renewal of the infrastructure at the operative shore is planned.
