On the 12th of January the North Adriatic Sea Ports, members of NAPA held a general assembly in Trieste. Luka Koper turned over the presidency for the first half of 2015 to Port of Trieste.
The members have adopted the programme for 2015, which includes continuation of intense EU funding, the presentation of developmental needs and opportunities for North Adriatic ports growth and better recognition of Adriatic Entrance to Europe. The main promotional activity for this year will be the participation at the largest traditional transport and logistics fair in Munich, Germany.
The members also signed the new Memorandum of Understanding with which members confirm their mutual interest in supporting the future development projects of each port and their connections with the hinterland in regards to EU priorities. They will join their strengths in application to the first tender of Multi-annual work programme (TEN-T) launched by the EU. The application will cover infrastructural development plans of each port, in particular for container and RO-RO transport, the sea highway, better accessibility and alternative energy sources. In 2014 the ports of NAPA achieved a big improvement within container transport. Together we have moved 1.835.960 TEU, which is a 10% improvement compared to 2013.
