New Detection Equipment in the Port of Koper

08.11.2006

On November 7 2006, the front gate monitors for radiation detection, were hand over use at the entrance in the Port of Koper. The sensitive radiation detection equipment, placed with the help of the United States of America, was turned over to the Customs Administration of the Republic of Slovenia. The operation of this equipment, that is intended for screening containers, vehicles and people at entering and leaving the port, is completely harmless. Together with the American government, the Slovenian Customs Administration wants to prevent illegal traffic with radioactive substances and uncover as much as possible radioactive sources, that could, in case of misuse or unsuitable handling, provoke an accident.

In Luka Koper, we greet this instrument, which would importantly support our reputation of a safe port, for what we are thoroughly endeavouring.
