Morje Hotels, Portorož, Slovenia - 18th & 19th October 2006
Luka Koper is again organizing an international Port Management and Logistics Conference, which is to take place on 18th and 19th October at the Morje Hotels resort in Portorož. Due to a number of concerns pertaining to energy in the Northern Adriatic region, the majority of attention at this year's Conference will be focused on the issue of energy logistics and the logistical challenges now being faced by Southern Europe.
In addition to the aforementioned, the Conference shall encompass four main themes:
- The development possibilities, advantages and opportunities enjoyed by port cities; the city as a basis for the development of the port, and the port as a potential engenderer of new activities, operations and infrastructure (locally, regionally and nationwide).
- The logistics of energy; the significance of logistics in energy supply, trends in storage and distribution; the role of ports in the transport of fuel, future trends in energy supply and demand.
- The logistics challenges faced by Southern Europe; the potentials of the Southern European route and successful projects in stimulating logistics development.
- The comparative advantages of ports in relation to the environment; an analysis of the models which observe the influence of ports on the environment and the assertions of various interest groups can be utilized in assessing the comparative advantage of ports.
The Conference is expected to be a most interesting and enlightening event, which shall also afford an opportunity to meet with key players in the spheres of logistics and port operation.
May we take this opportunity to cordially invite you to participate in the Third Port Management and Logistics Conference, and look forward to seeing you in Portorož!
