The cranes, manufactured by the Finnish company Konecranes, will be integrated into operations at the Container Terminal by the end of this year. They will replace older and less environmentally friendly gantry cranes. Their main power source will be electricity drawn directly from the grid, with battery-stored energy serving as an alternative power supply.

With the introduction of these four new units, the number of electrified RTG cranes will increase to 19 – accounting for two-thirds of all RTGs operating at the Container Terminal.
