The discussion focused primarily on untapped opportunities that the Port of Koper can offer in facilitating trade between Türkiye and Europe. Koper maintains strong connections with Turkish ports – currently, four container services include eight Turkish ports, and weekly RO‑RO connections are also in place. However, there is still significant potential for growth. To further raise interest among Turkish business partners, the Port of Koper will organise a promotional event in Istanbul at the end of April, bringing together a wide range of representatives from Turkish logistics companies, transport providers, and end clients. The Slovenian delegation will also include members of the port community and other logistics partners.

On 18 February 2025, the Port of Koper welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Slovenia, H.E. Hayriye Kumaşcıoğlu. The distinguished guest was received by Management Board Member Gregor Belič, accompanied by colleagues from various departments. The ambassador was briefed on the port’s operations and business results from the previous year, as well as on key investments and development opportunities.
