Representatives of the Port of Koper and the Koper port community presented the many advantages and logistics services offered by Slovenia’s only cargo port. Following the opening remarks by high-level Slovenian representatives – the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Istanbul Gorazd Renčelj, the President of the Management Board of the Port of Koper Nevenka Kržan, and the Honorary Consul of Türkiye in Slovenia Borut Škabar – addresses by prominent Turkish representatives followed.

A few words were also shared by Turgut Erkeskin, President of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), Bilgehan Engin, President of the Turkish Forwarding and Logistics Association (UTIKAD), and Hakan Çendik, President of the Association of Turkish Coaster Shipowners and Operators.

Nevenka Kržan, President of the Management Board of the Port of Koper, emphasized that good relationships among all stakeholders are crucial for the Company’s success and results. “In the past year, the entire industry faced numerous challenges related to the Red Sea crisis. It was essential to adapt quickly and act in a coordinated manner,” she said, while also presenting the investments currently underway and those planned for the coming period. She added that all investments adhere to the highest sustainability standards, as the Company is investing in environmentally friendly technologies.

The meeting focused on cooperation between the Port of Koper, the port community, and Türkiye, while also addressing current conditions and challenges in the logistics sector. The audience was also addressed by Borut Šemrl, Marketing Director at Luka Koper d.d., Čedomir Bojanić, President of the Transport Association, and Gracijan Necmeskal, President of the Slovenian Ship and Freight Agents Association.

The business event in Istanbul also served as an opportunity for one-on-one meetings with existing partners and potential new ones.
