CMA CGM Cobalt operates within the Ocean Alliance shipping alliance, which provides weekly connections between Koper and Asian ports. This was the vessel’s first call at Koper. It was built this year and ranks among the most advanced vessels in the fleet of the French shipping company CMA CGM. Among other features, it is equipped with alternative methanol propulsion, offering significant benefits in terms of reduced harmful emissions.
The first of the twelve methanol-powered vessels was CMA CGM Iron which completed its maiden voyage in March this year. The vessel has a capacity of 13,000 TEUs and was built in South Korea. One of its sister ships is CMA CGM Cobalt, which called at Koper a few days ago.
