The season will open in January with the 228‑metre VikingSaturn, carrying 900 passengers and 700 crew, and will conclude in November with the 181‑metre Sirena, bringing 600 passengers and 400 crew members. In the coming year, Koper will welcome five cruise ships making their first visit – Marella Voyager, VikingMars, MeinSchiff4, BrillianceoftheSeas, and DouglasMawson. Three of them will arrive in May, while the remaining two are expected in June and July, reflecting the growing recognition of Koper’s Passenger Terminal in the cruise industry. The busiest month is expected to be August, when 14 cruise ships will bring 26,500 passengers and 11,697 crew members. In 2026, Koper will handle calls from 13 cruise lines, with MarellaCruises leading with 20 calls, followed by NorwegianCruiseLine with 14, and VikingCruises with 13 calls. In addition to ships calling at Koper, several smaller cruise vessels will anchor off Piran. Cruise calls are subject to change throughout the year, and minor schedule adjustments are possible – including additional calls, cancellations, or timing modifications for arrivals and departures.

“The scheduled cruise calls clearly show that in recent years we have strengthened our position on the Mediterranean cruise map. This is further confirmed by the many new cruise lines choosing to call at our port. We are looking forward to a successful season filled with diverse visits, while continuing to enhance the overall experience for both passengers and crew through new infrastructure and organisational improvements,”
said MitjaDujc, Head of the Passenger Terminal at the Port of Koper.

In recent years, the Port of Koper has reached several important milestones in the field of cruise tourism. In September 2023, the port welcomed its one‑millionth passenger, followed a year later by the arrival of the 1,000th cruise ship since cruise tourism began in Koper. The year 2025 is particularly special, not only for the record number of ship calls but also for marking the 20th anniversary of the arrival of the first cruise ship in Koper and the opening of the port’s new, modern Passenger Terminal building.
