The 26th edition of the auction once again demonstrated the power of cooperation and solidarity. This year’s proceeds came close to a record amount of EUR 200,000, bringing the total raised across all editions to almost EUR 1 million. The funds represent a valuable contribution to the development and modernisation of the Paediatric Department which provides care for children in the Slovenian Istria region.
The event opened with the symbolic presentation of a record cheque for EUR 156,001.40 to representatives of the Paediatric Department of the Izola General Hospital. The donated amount represented the proceeds from last year’s auction – funds that were gradually transferred to Vinakoper’s account in line with the payment schedule for the auctioned wines.
At the Port of Koper, we are proud to be part of this charitable story, which for more than a quarter of a century has combined quality, tradition, and responsibility toward the community. The Vinakoper Barrel Charity Auction is a wonderful example of how collective efforts can go beyond business frameworks and be transformed into actions that truly make a difference.
