The implementation of the National Action Plan regarding respect of human rights in business is ensured by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with other ministries and government departments, including the Human Rights Ombudsman, representatives of businesses, trade unions, NGOs, and academia.

The basis are the following priorities:

  • Promotion of equal opportunities
  • Protection of fundamental rights at work (precarious work)
  • Environmental protection and sustainable development
  • Human trafficking prevention
  • Human rights due diligence

Currently, Port of Koper and 12 other Slovenian companies (BTC, GEN energija, Krka, Lek, Plinovodi, Pošta Slovenije, SID Banka, Slovenske železnice, Slovenski državni holding, Telekom Slovenije, Vzajemna and Zavarovalnica Triglav) have signed the Commitment to respect human rights in business operations.
All undertake to carry out measures to ensure respect for human rights in the economy as set out in the NAP gradually, within three years from the signing of the declaration at the latest.
