In her opening remarks, Nevenka Kržan, President of the Management Board of the Port of Koper, expressed pride and satisfaction with the successful completion of the subsidiary’s extensive investment cycle. She emphasised that investments in electric and hybrid vehicles, modern equipment, and the energy efficiency of facilities represent an important step towards reducing environmental impacts and enhancing the reliability of port services.
Robert Krajnc, Director of Luka Koper INPO, announced two new investments planned for 2026: a Renault electric van for ship waste collection and a Mercedes electric bus for employee transport within the port. He thanked employees and business partners for their cooperation and contribution to achieving the company’s sustainability goals.
The latest addition to Luka Koper INPO’s fleet – the vessel Gaia, which arrived at the port earlier this month – was built on the island of Korčula. Measuring 11.8 metres in length and with a payload capacity of up to 15 tonnes, it is designed for ship waste collection and will play an important role in ensuring the environmentally responsible operation of the Port of Koper.
Following the official part of the event, a symbolic christening ceremony for Gaia took place, along with a presentation of all the company’s recent investments. The gathering concluded with a relaxed social event.
