After a four-year break, the largest international logistics fair took place in Munich. Luka Koper presented itself from 9 to 12 May. Together with 14 other Slovenian companies and institutions, we participated at the fair in Munich under the aegis of the Spirit public agency. A comprehensive approach and a group presentation of Slovenian logistics operators under the slogan “Slovenia – Your logistic gateway to Europe – Green. Creative. Smart.” attracted a lot of interest among foreign business partners.

The Slovenian pavilion hosted a varied accompanying programme throughout the four days. On the first day, we attracted a large number of visitors with a reception for the foreign business and professional community and a presentation of the Slovenian logistics industry. The next day, the action moved to the stand of the Port of Koper, where opportunities for doing business via the Port of Koper were presented.

In addition to the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Berlin, Her Excellency Ana Polak Petrič, and the Consul General of the Republic of Slovenia in Munich, Maša Šiftar, the event was also attended by the Minister of Economy, Tourism and Sport, Matjaž Han, who in his address to the participants said: “One of Slovenia’s major advantages is its geostrategic position at the heart of Europe. The Port of Koper is also an advantage. In terms of Europe’s connectivity to the world, we need to use this advantage to our advantage. By strengthening the logistics sector and centres in Slovenia, we can in turn strengthen other economic and entrepreneurial activities. As we have seen, there is a lot of interest in Slovenia because we have a number of competitive advantages.”

Boštjan Napast, President of the Port of Koper, welcomed the participants at the opening ceremony: “After several years of hiatus, this fair is the first real moment for logistics to present itself again, as the Covid-19 pandemic has divided us in recent years. Given the overwhelming response to the event, which Luka Koper organised at the Slovenian pavilion, we can say that we made the right decision. We are very pleased that everyone who is key to the functioning of our port was present. I am referring to the port community, freight forwarders, agents, railway operators and others who help us to provide a quality service. The Port of Koper is not just a window to the world, but a gateway, connecting the Far East with Central Europe.”

Luka Koper was represented at the fair by a large delegation, mainly of commercial specialists and representatives of the various terminals.
