On 17th June, Luka Koper hosted a workshop of the STARNETregio European project joining partners from the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia (), the County of Rijeka () and . The project is aimed at the development of research in the field of shipbuilding, with a particular focus on the construction of ships and development of port equipment and infrastructure. Further to Luka Koper, the Slovenian partners also include the Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport and the Slovenian Technology Agency.

This workshop’s edition in particular addressed the environmental perspective. The discussion witnessed participation of Marko Perkovič (Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport), Franka Cepak (Luka Koper), Jernej Jenko (Institute of Occupational Health), Markos Vassilikos, the representative of Neptune Lines, and Paolo Guglia from the Fincantieri shipyard ( Trieste).
