For the fourth consecutive year, we have exceeded the one-million-TEUs mark, further strengthening our position as the leading Container Terminal in the Northern Adriatic. Early signs of strong performance came in March, when we handled a then-record 110,811 TEUs, followed by July, which set a new record with 112,129 TEUs handled in a single month.

“Reaching one million TEUs already at the beginning of October is the result of the coordinated efforts of all our teams and the trust of our business partners. This achievement is particularly significant given the more challenging operational conditions we are currently facing – higher terminal occupancy and constraints on the rail network. We are continuing with our extensive investment cycle, in which the most important project by far is the extension of the northern part of Pier I. Through this, we will further strengthen our position as the leading port in the Northern Adriatic,” said Nevenka Kržan, President of the Management Board of Luka Koper, commenting on the excellent October result.

It is worth recalling that the first container was handled in Luka Koper more than 40 years ago, when the operational quay of the Container Terminal measured only 150 meters. Today, it extends to almost 700 meters, and once the extension of the northern part of Pier I is completed, an additional 326 meters of new quay will be added.
