Participation in these traditional port events continues to grow each year, as does cargo throughput through the Port of Koper. In addition to business partners in Serbia, the delegation from the Port of Koper was joined by numerous representatives of Slovenian logistics providers, freight forwarders, and other members of the port community who provide high-quality support services related to port operations.
The guests were welcomed by the President of the Management Board of the Port of Koper Nevenka Kržan, who was joined in Belgrade by Management Board members Gregor Belič and Gorazd Jamnik. “It is an honour to welcome you to our traditional Port Day. Our partnership with the Serbian logistics community has a long tradition, yet today we proudly look to the future and to the successes that lie ahead. We are well aware of the challenges before us, but we firmly believe that within them we will always find opportunities,” said the President of the Management Board who went on to highlight some of the Company’s key investment projects, with particular emphasis on the construction of the northern extension of the container pier.
The participants were also addressed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Belgrade H.E. Dr. Slobodan Šešum who emphasized that the Port of Koper is not only Slovenia’s gateway to the world, but also a gateway for Serbia and Europe. He added that the Serbian market is particularly attractive from a business perspective, as evidenced by the presence of numerous major international companies in Serbia.
