Our company first hosted the Slovenian male and female ski jumpers, who have had a season filled with victories, records, and remarkable achievements. Among the highlights is a historic achievement: for the first time, a brother and sister both won the large crystal globe. To this we must add a new world record in Planica, the prestigious Golden Eagle, and medals won at the Olympic Games. The athletes were welcomed at the port by members of the Luka Koper management board – president Nevenka Kržan and board members Gregor Belič, Gorazd Jamnik, and Vojko Rotar as employee representative on the board. On the occasion, the President of the Management Board emphasized that elite sports require not only exceptional individuals but also appropriate conditions, systemic support, and long-term investment: “We are aware that such outstanding successes are no coincidence. That is why we are proud to support the Slovenian national teams in ski jumping and Nordic combined as a gold sponsor and to help create the conditions for top-level achievements.” During their visit, the athletes also met with employees and thanked them for their long-standing support.
Later that day, the traditional “Sailor of the Year 2025” event took place in Koper, bringing together Slovenia’s top sailors, sailing experts, sponsors, and numerous guests to celebrate a successful season. In her capacity as President of the Management Board of Luka Koper, Ms. Kržan addressed the participants, highlighting the importance of perseverance, cooperation, and community support, as well as the company’s role as a long-standing general sponsor. On the occasion, the Port of Koper and the Slovenian Sailing Federation strengthened their partnership by signing a new three-year sponsorship agreement. The title of Sailor of the Year was awarded to Olympic silver medalist Toni Vodišek, who received the recognition by our President of the Management Board. Numerous awards were also presented in various categories, including the “Golden Sail for Lifetime Achievement” which was awarded to Aljoša Tomaž.
