Today, the first cruise ship in season 2016 called Koper. It is Berlin, a small ship (ship owner FTI Cruises) that can host 412 passengers. About 65 ship are expected to call Koper this year, introducing to Slovenia some 70,000 tourists. The season will conclude on 7th December. As the Head of the Passenger terminal Bojan Babič told, Koper is an interesting destination: “The cruise market in the Adriatic and Mediterranean reached positive trends again. It is expected a growth from 4 to 6 percent. Koper is interesting for ship owners because it is an intermediate destinations in the Adriatic, which enriches cruise itineraries. In Koper we provide a good quality services. Furthermore, Slovenia has a very rich and varied range of activities for passengers. In addition, we know very well the needs of ship owners and the local tourism agencies successfully adapt to them.”

Our most frequent guest in this season will be Thomson Majesty (ship owner Thomson Cruises). The largest ship will be Norvegian Spirit (ownership Prestige Cruise Holdings), that will arrive in Koper for the first time on 31st July. It can host about 2.639 passengers and 965 crew members.
