The company’s management board acquainted the Minister and the guests with the port’s business results and focused primarily on development plans and investment projects that are already under way or will be implemented soon. One of the strategically most important projects is certainly the extension of the Container Terminal operative shore on Pier I for which the port already obtained the building permit. The works are also already in course at the new Sermin truck entrance which will contribute to improve the port’s internal logistics and will relieve the freight transport on the major traffic routes in Koper. Among other major port’s investments is the setting up of a new garage for cars, the construction of berths for car transporters and the acquisition of modern equipment. The Minister informed the Port of Koper management about the latest developments related to the construction of the Koper-Divača railway link and presented the Ministry’s activities related to the acquisition of the plots of land within the concession area of the Port of Koper. “Our commitment is that the State solves the port issues most rapidly and efficiently. We are working to ensure that the construction of the second track of the railway line be started as soon as possible,” stressed the Minister after the meeting.
